“Bandage Doctor?”
Several attempted to rescue the victims, but were instantly intercepted or separated by the rushing bandages, either swept away or blocked off.
{I am the maker of the “Shiqian Order.”}
“Maker of the Shiqian Or…der?!” The crowd erupted in an uproar.
Yang Zicang stared intently.
“Is it you? Are you the one who dissected Wang Chaoguang?!”
The figure on the roof sneered coldly.
{Indeed, it is I.}
……
Earlier, everyone had heard news of the Bandage Doctor from the captured members of the Shiqian Order. This person, never heard of before, was actually the hidden hand manipulating everything behind the scenes.
The Rose Queen, standing by the broken table, exclaimed in surprise, “This stone hall… it could be destroyed so easily by him.”
The swirling bandages fluttered in the air, coiled around people, emitting a terrifying aura that kept strangers at bay.
“What’s going on? Our Mental Link isn’t working!”
Some tried to activate their models to contact the outside world, but found they couldn’t succeed no matter what.
“Is his power really that strong?!”
“We can’t reach anyone. It’s like everyone outside has gone completely silent.”
A wave of panic spread.
“Mine’s out too. Did he do all this? That’s impossible!”
{I know what you’re wondering about. Yang Zicang, you should know what it does, right?}
He held up something—like a misshapen dark lump of iron, or a fragment of bone with indistinguishable features.
{Want to know why your friend couldn’t reach you a few hours ago? It was because of this.}
Yang Zicang furrowed his brow.
Amid the clamor of panic in the hall, there was a subtle, underlying layer of eerie tranquility beneath all that noise.
He suddenly looked up. “Is it the Place of Silence?”
{Not bad, you even know its name. With it around, don’t bother trying to use models to call for reinforcements.}
“You’re thinking too simply!”
Energy surged behind Yang Zicang, abruptly expanding and then solidifying, materializing into a vast, pale-blue haze like an expansive sea.
[Real Manifestation: White Shadow Nian Dragon!]
The White Shadow Nian Dragon instantly soared up from that abyss-like ocean of energy hues, charging toward the figure on the dome.
But the man on the roof, wrapped layer upon layer in bandages, showed no trace of fear at all.
The countless bandages on its body instantly loosened and expanded outward, enveloping itself like an egg.
At that moment, Yang Zicang flicked the silk scarf wrapped around his arm beneath his clothes—it burst open with a bang, transforming into a massive flying carpet. He kicked off the broken desktop beneath his feet, leaped onto the carpet, and was about to charge toward the top of the stone hall where several large holes had been blasted open.
{Heh, who the hell is overthinking things? Get… back!}
Thump! Thump! Thump!
The iron chandelier suddenly trembled as countless bandages rushed forth, cutting off the giant carpet’s path forward. Sometimes, being too big is just a hindrance.
The Rose Queen shouted, “Zicang, watch out!”
The surrounding air erupted into ripples, and an indescribable surge of admiration and desperate longing for love abruptly rose within everyone’s hearts.
Morrie staggered physically; looking down at his hands, he saw countless rose petals spinning in his wine. He blinked wide-eyed in amazement as Xu Aiyuan gritted her teeth and yanked at a torn petal from an embroidered rose on her collar. As needle-thin drops of blood oozed from her fingertips, the embroidered petal was in fact forcefully torn off.
As the petal was ripped off and tossed into the air, a burst of mental energy blasted open around them, and riotous petals of energy sprouted up at everyone’s feet.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Petals clashed with bandages!
A frenzied sonic wave pierced eardrums, and the glass in Morrie’s hand suddenly exploded into fragments. Thin gauze strips about half a meter long scattered amidst the colliding energy.
“So they weren’t real—these bandages are also reinforced by telekinesis!”
Once the huge, deformed bandages shattered, they were nothing but ordinary narrow gauze strips.
Yang Zicang gritted his teeth and soared into the air. “Hold on, you two—I’ll take him out!”
[Graviton Arc!]
[Because I am the Great Quadrilateral, I can Quadruple-Amplify!]
“Morrie!” Yang Zicang roared. As long as Morrie was right behind him, he had nothing to worry about!
“Go fight; I’ve got your back!”
*Boom!* A gun thrust forward, and the rings of force ripple spreading across the top of the dome shattered explosively.
[I neutralized 10,000 N! How is that possible?]
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*
[I invested 8000 N for Morrie.]
[Morrie invested 9999 N for me!]
In just a single clash, countless swirling bandages shattered the Quadruple-Amplified Chrono, which had been fortified for a full eight millennia!
Suddenly, a dark red thin beam shot in at high speed—so fast that even Yang Zicang’s coordination ability could barely keep up.
Yang Zicang’s hand rapidly lifted again. The black hole illusion of the Graviton Arc spun sharply outside the roofline. The silver spear was about to shoot out from behind the bandages, trailing the red light!
The Bandage-Surgeon turned his head, a cold smirk in his eyes as he glanced at the spinning black hole.
*Whoosh!* The spear shot down as a red streak.
Yet at this very moment, the dozen or so tangled remnants of gauze that had crashed to the ground suddenly twisted, elongated, and connected with one another.
The ground erupted in a violent explosion.
A twisted humanoid form rose from the interwoven bandages, charging instantly to Xu Aiyuan’s side.
“What?!”
“Miss Aiyuan!”
The people below cried out in shock.
The huge carpet high above puffed into an arc, shattering several hanging iron ring candelabras in an instant. Yang Zicang dispersed the shimmering threads. These flying pieces of iron ring debris were immediately imbued with golden light, pelting downward like rain.
“Aiyuan, fall back now!”
The White Shadow Nian Dragon swooped down fiercely, scraping blinding flames out of the pervasive spirit energy.
The Bandage Doctor smirked, raising a hand to cast outwards—two strips of cloth wrapped in scalpels twisted toward the Nian Dragon’s direction, while the remaining five scalpels transformed into streaks of light fast enough to tear through air, appearing beside Xu Aiyuan in an instant.
[Trajectory Dispatch!]
{Too slow.}
Bang bang bang bang bang!
Five willow-leaf-shaped scalpels pinned down the hem of the woman’s dress and her shoulder blades.
Yang Zicang was jolted in shock—the Dispatch ability was ineffective against the scalpels.
The Bandage Doctor closed in on Xu Aiyuan in an instant; in that brief moment, the entire hall had already been woven into a net-like cage by the twisted bandages.
{Time for the game to end.}
A surgical knife radiating a faint crimson pressed against the woman’s delicate neck.
“You!” Yang Zicang’s eyes blazed with fury as he shouted, “Stop!”
The surgical knife in the bandaged hand clutching the woman pressed upward, leaving a red scratch on Xu Aiyuan’s delicate, fair skin.
{What should stop is your actions, my friend.}
More bandages rapidly emerged from the bandaged figure’s hands, layering around the woman already enveloped by psychic roses.
As the bandages wound tighter, ripples of energy constantly surged across the surface of the protective shield resembling a giant rose. With each passing second, her psychic protection grew thinner, as if it would collapse at any moment.
{Trade her life for the Invisibility Orb.}
Yang Zicang felt as if his blood was burning violently.
“Let her go! Or else…”
{What kind of look is that, huh?}
The surgical knife pressed against her neck lifted slightly, and the Rose Queen’s pupils contracted sharply as more blood seeped from her wound. This man was utterly impervious to any threat.
Seeing the blood seeping out, Yang Zicang felt as if his heart skipped a beat.
This guy was a complete madman!
He was truly capable of anything!
“You—stay calm!” Yang Zicang forced himself to regain some composure and spoke in a tone full of rationality.
But as the enormous blanket lowered just a bit, the scalpel pierced his flesh without hesitation, its edge now less than a millimeter from an artery.
“Stay right there. Don’t move.”
The bandaged doctor said with a cold sneer.
Everyone stopped what they were doing, not daring to breathe.
“The Ability Sphere is what may come over. If anything else appears, she can say goodbye to this world immediately.”
Everyone’s gaze fell upon Yang Zicang, floating in the air.
“Yang Zicang!” a girl said, her voice choked with tears, “Is even Sister Rose not worth a single Ability Sphere? Please save her!”
“No!” someone called out from the crowd, “If the invisibility model is given to this man, there will be no safe place left in the Shifting Wasteland from now on!”
The thought that a sociopathic patient with invisibility could appear beside them at any moment sent chills down everyone’s spine.
{Oh? Actually…}
The bandaged doctor looked around, thought for a moment, and then laughed.
{I have a proposal. How about we make a deal? You hand over the invisibility model, and I guarantee I won’t use the Ability Sphere myself.}
Not use it himself?
“Then what do you plan to use it for?”
Everyone reacted for a moment, and instantly, a gleam pierced some gazes, sending a chill down their spines.
