Her body uncontrollably flew further to the left. Julia was horrified.
She couldn’t understand why her fiancé seemed to be known to so many people, and as an enemy—one who drew blades at the first meeting!
As for Yang Zicang, someone who seldom moved with others, Julia had not heard of him until a few days ago. But in the past two days, she had learned from the constant complaints of the Red Model that he seemed to be the builder of this demon king fortress.
Was there a connection between them?
“Morrie!” Julia, having fallen to the ground, immediately got to her feet, wanting to rush to her fiancé’s rescue.
“Don’t come over. I can handle it!”
Boom!
Morrie actually used his own fist to meet that punch from Zilong Lord, which carried immense temporal power. With a few violent tremors, the man was smashed against the wall amid the dust and fell to the ground in pain.
But on his body, a faint golden glow still radiated.
“As expected, you’re the renowned temporal powerhouse.” Zhao Yun stepped forward steadily, his gaze calmly fixed on the man climbing to his feet by the wall.
Mark rushed over to the Four-Phase Team members. “Yunze! I found a small zombie comparable to the Moon Angel. As befits our city, it still has the ability to regenerate intelligence.”
Cheng Yunze glanced at him, a joy welling in his heart as well.
At the very least, this person, who had given him the greatest help, would no longer develop a rift with him going forward.
“Pity I haven’t refined even ten percent of it in all this time. To gain complete control like you, it’ll probably take a day or two.” Mark looked regretfully at the coffin floating beside him. If his mental strength were stronger, he might have refined it faster.
The previous Moon Angel was utterly impossible to control. At least this time, with the stone coffin, there was a chance for mastery.
Cheng Yunze nodded. “I know why. It’s simple—just drive the newly awakened intelligence of this small zombie insane.”
He turned his gaze to Julia, who was desperately rushing toward Morrie.
“Kill her.”
The silent, standing Moon Angel suddenly lifted its head, its hollow eye sockets locked firmly onto the running woman in the distance.
Julia embraced Morrie, blood seeping from the corners of his mouth. Sensing immense danger, she turned her head just as the radiant Skeleton of Light from afar arrived in an instant!
Boom!
Clang!
Just as the claws of the Skeleton of Light were about to strike the woman, a long sword firmly met them, bracing against its dual claws.
A boy’s figure appeared in front of Julia and Morrie.
Morrie, whose head was still dizzy, suddenly felt ecstatic—this figure was the man from his dream!
“Hong Haocheng!”
Hong Haocheng turned his head coldly, gritting his teeth as he glared at this person who seemed to be on Yang Zicang’s side.
“Shut up. Don’t act so familiar, like I even know you.”
Cheng Yunze at the front of the hall angrily shouted, “Haocheng! What are you doing?!”
The boy, shielding Julia and holding off the skeleton, roared back:
“I’m protecting my own people!!”
Clang, clang, clang! Hong Haocheng’s sword trembled, golden light flickering in his pupils as he knocked back the Moon Angel with a single strike!
“All Red Model people in this city are under my protection! That’s my bragging right for my future wife! Now back off!”
The long sword clashed violently with the Moon Angel again at high speed.
“Well done, Haocheng!” Morrie praised.
“I told you to shut up!” Hong Haocheng glared, eyes wide with fury.
“Hahaha!” Morrie laughed heartily. He turned to Julia and said, “I thought I’d never see you again, my… beloved.”
Morrie shoved the spike-claw into Julia’s hand. “Use it. Only then can I be at ease.”
“You…” Julia’s eyes brimmed with tears as she clutched the man’s hand in both of hers, her voice trembling with sobs: “No, you use it. I am no longer the ordinary Julia; I am now someone as powerful as Knight Joan of Arc!”
Julia rose to her feet, her gaze fixed on the massive parasitic Demonic Nightmare with unyielding determination.
A red quadrilateral materialized on her chest.
“I, Julia Morrie, request to transcend ten thousand years…”
Upon hearing her surname changed to Morrie, the man’s emotions suddenly erupted within him. Ignoring the pain, he pulled himself up and yanked Julia behind him.
“If your knight found out that a man didn’t stand before his beloved, I would be a laughingstock.”
The moment Morrie finished speaking, a dense red phantom aura surged around him. Its glow was far more vivid and crimson than that of an ordinary Ten-Thousand-Year Phantom Aura Sequence.
“This is—!”
Cheng Yunze’s eyes flickered, and his skeleton rapidly retreated.
Zhao Yun, who was on guard against Cheng Yunze and his team approaching, felt a stir in his heart at the sudden, unusual red phantom aura.
“Zilong, take him down!”
Sensing the threat, Zhao Yun decided not to keep the Virtual Zero Sequence for Yang Zicang any longer.
Boom! The giant fist sliced through the heavy air as Morrie turned. The moment the punch came crashing down, his small fist soared upward from below, reversing against the sky!
“Thousand-Arm Fist!!!”
The red phantom abruptly transformed into a radiance tinged with a bright orange glow! This orange energy, born from within the golden-red phantom, flickered ever so slightly but seemed to emit a scorching brilliance on a spiritual level!
Zhao Yun, expressionless, sensed an aura of terrifying danger.
[I request the maximum financing limit! No upper cap!]
Zhao Yun intended to urgently initiate financing beyond ten thousand years… But the fist swung by Morrie instantly multiplied into countless phantoms, clashing against Zilong Jun’s fist.
Bang! Fist met fist, like a mantis arm trying to shake a giant ship!
Boom, boom, boom, rumble, rumble!
This instantaneous burst of fist shadows, like a dense salvo of exploding shells, bombarded Zilong Jun’s fist in a split second. The speed was so overwhelming that Zhao Yun couldn’t even reinforce through financing in time; he directly canceled this super financing, which would have sent him on a new Fate Track after the match, and instead controlled Zilong Jun by sheer will to become instantly ethereal, distorting, shrinking, and retreating.
Crash! The fierce winds exploded outwards like a blast; the rapidly churning air current left everyone unsteady on their feet.
{Ninety thousand years! Ugh, ah!}
Zilong Jun’s giant fist was torn into shreds by the indiscernible rain of fists in less than a second!
This rapidly deforming enormous parasitic Demonic Nightmare body, like a deflating rubber ball, blasted backward through the airflow, colliding with Zhao Yun and shrinking into a gaseous dark shadow on the ground!
In the passages on both sides, several people who had just rushed out were nearly knocked over by the spreading blast of wind, causing chaos and falls across the already messy ground.
Amidst the dust, golden light flickered, and the Skeletal Moon Angel once again took the chaos to charge swiftly toward Julia.
Clang! Hong Haocheng’s sword desperately blocked the Moon Angel’s attack, his arm muscles rapidly engorging and swelling with blood.
“Haocheng, if you take her down, we’ll have a solid chance to overpower Yang Zicang.”
“Do we really have to… kill someone!”
Hong Haocheng’s eyes blazed with anger.
“Which side are you even on!”
“My own side is the only side!”
“Hmph.”
Cheng Yunze mulled it over in his mind; Yang Zicang would arrive soon. If he didn’t let Mark successfully control this little zombie now, the whole plan might fall apart. Moreover, that would make this American turn his attention to his own Moon Angel.
Killing an outsider for a major advantage, or sowing the seeds of a rift with his own people—Cheng Yunze knew exactly what choice to make.
He walked forward through the dust, step by step, toward Hong Haocheng.
“Haocheng, if you stubbornly refuse to see reason, I’ll have to step in myself.”
Opposite, Morrie, of course, knew that the man could transform into a Psychic Body.
“Julia, quickly, use the Thorn Claw!”
“No, you should use it. This is our city’s Chief. His strength is unfathomable!”
As the title of Chief implies, his formidable power was already deeply ingrained in the hearts of all Twenty-Third City’s inhabitants. Julia had always feared encountering members of this team; almost as soon as they crossed paths irreconcilably, she retreated into the dangerous building complex on the city’s edge, where demonic nightmares were born.
Cheng Yunze’s tone gradually grew ethereal. A humanoid shadow emerged from his body. The people blocking his path in front were no different from grass and trees in his eyes.
The humanoid shadow stepped away from his body, turned around, and raised its hand, disappearing into his palm.
No one could stand in his way—this was Cheng Yunze’s confidence.
“Miss Julia, forgive me for my offense!”
However, just at that moment, blood suddenly splattered as Hong Haocheng chopped off his own left pinky finger with a sword.
[QÍ-BƐɪ Lake declares, it is now an Odd and Even number.]
Everyone present looked at this boy as if he were a fool.
“I told you all: all those of the Red Model in the cities, I will protect them.”
The longsword in the boy’s hand instantly turned semi-transparent.
“A Psychic Body!” Morrie recognized the sword’s current state at a glance.
“My sword is the missing part of my body!”
Vwoom. A wave of air rippled outward from Hong Haocheng’s hand. The sword in his hand blazed with a red light as he transformed into a nimble silhouette and leaped away.
{Hong Haocheng!}
Cheng Yunze flew into a rage.
Morrie quickly crushed the last few Born Treasures containing ten thousand years of time sequence, using Yang Zicang’s Ability Sphere to control their trajectory and send them to Hong Haocheng, while interfering with Cheng Yunze’s advance route.
Suddenly, a voice resounded in everyone’s hearts.
{It’s… the ancient unnamed Cycle of Blood!}
Before the stone door, that ape-like clone of the Defender seemed to sense Hong Haocheng’s presence, letting out a formless roar.
The light suddenly dimmed, and a flickering red glow appeared in the darkness.
The red glow gathered behind the stone door, like an eye peering from a stranger before the grand hall. Strand after strand of umbilical-cord-like energy bonds extended continuously from the gap in the door.
{Offer the Cycle of Blood, and I shall grant you the chance to share my life!}
Cheng Yunze, blocked by Hong Haocheng, felt a sudden surge of fear deep within his heart; an indescribable aura enveloped the hall.
“Careful, it’s the Defender!”
“All of the Defender’s attention is focused here!”
